Angela Aux
Angela Aux is a phantom of the German pop scene, but not one who hides particularly well. His songs play on radio stations across Europe, he’s streamed millions of times, and his music can be heard in movies. And yet, he remains mysteriously shrouded in fog. Like a chameleon that sinks so deeply into its own performance that it seems to vanish within it. Perhaps because his theatrical fusion of indie concert, crash course in philosophy, and Dada comedy cannot be described in a single sentence: One moment you’re listening to a melancholic song about the psychological pitfalls of everyday life. The next moment, a wave of laughter ripples through the audience when he draws such an absurd connection between the longing for change and extraterrestrial life that you can, first in amazement and then shaking your head, relax and accept your own transience for a while.
