Atena Eshtiaghi
Atena Eshtiaghi is an Iranian composer and multi-instrumentalist living in Germany. Born in Tehran in 1989, she studied classical and Persian music. Since 2007, she has performed as a cellist and double bassist with various ensembles and orchestras, touring internationally with the Tehran Symphony and Iran National Orchestra. With over 16 years of teaching experience, she has worked at institutions like the Tehran Girls’ Conservatory. Her film music career began in 2021, with notable works including “I’m Trying to Remember” and “Endless Borders.” Her score for the Oscar-qualified documentary “My Stolen Planet” earned her the Deutscher Dokumentarfilm-Musikpreis in 2024. In Germany, she received the INTRO scholarship, co-founded “Duo Azadi,” and established the “Ateneum Music Studio” in Hamburg. She also served as Artistic Director of the “Hastam Festival,” which won the Helga Festival Award in 2024. In 2025, she became a Berlinale Talents alumna and a member of the European Film Academy, continuing to compose and produce music for international films.
