Residency

Need space?

We know what it's like to need time, space and support to make the work that won't let you go. That's what the Clouds Hill Residency is here for.

From January 1st to June 30th, 2026, we're opening our doors to one artist—any discipline—ready to go all in. The selected resident will receive a €10,000 grant, a flexible, fully adaptable work studio (not a music studio—a space shaped around your practice), and free accommodation in the Clouds Hill Artist Apartment. To make sure you can focus fully on your work, we also provide daily lunch at Entenwerder1—our favorite café, just across the river Elbe.

The Clouds Hill Residency is an invitation to turn that inner pull into something real. A place where your obsession finds a home. A hidden space, open for one reason only: because we believe that true dedication leads to unexpected, unforgettable work. Maybe even something that can't be named—yet. This is your space to think, to build, to focus. If it obsesses you, it belongs here.

Tell us your stories

What moves you forward—even when no one's watching? What idea has stayed with you, long after the world moved on? We want to hear from those who create with persistence, purpose, and a sense of wonder. No matter your field—if you're guided by deep curiosity and creative urgency, we'd love to learn more.

Applications open August 1st and close October 1st, 2025. Please use the contact form linked below to apply. Alternatively, you can send your documents via email to residency@cloudshill.com. All materials must be compiled into a single PDF file (max. 5 MB). A multidisciplinary jury—Aida Baghernejad (culture journalist), Inke Arns (curator and director of HMKV, Dortmund), Melike Bilir (curator and director of Gallery Melike Bilir) and Johann Scheerer (author, music producer, founder and owner of Clouds Hill)—will review all submissions.
