Cameos

Cameos was written during one of the lock downs. Like a lot of the album the lyrics are much more inward looking and about journeying through grief and how important people are only there for part of your story. I guess at the time there was a conflict between having the freedom to sit and write music without daily life interrupting but also a sense of isolation and time running out. I had the book ‘Concrete Island’ by JG Ballard and The Truman Show in mind, and the lyric cameos just felt like a relevant summarization of an individual playing a role in a wider story. It seemed to make sense in the Doveland world of someone looking for an idea of a place. - Django Django
